The Black Box was an enjoyable break. While I didn’t hit any major cards this time, the fun came from the mix of nostalgic and modern packs. It was exciting to open sealed wax from different hobby eras especially products like 2013 Prestige and 2018 Prizm cello packs, which brought a real sense of collector-driven curation.
The better pulls came from the newer packs (2023-24 Phoenix and 2024 Prizm FOTL), which offered solid modern parallels and more consistent value. The inclusion of older packs helps tell a story and experience for collectors like myself who build player-focused PCs across career timelines.
Compared to options like the Boombox or Hit Box, this sits as a boutique-tier product. It’s slightly more expensive on paper, but the packaging, presentation, and thematic value is for collectors chasing more than just ROI. Highly recommend for anyone who values the hobby’s history and enjoys the mix of chase and storytelling. Look forward to future releases.
